Netbox - Documentation of modern networks

Network

Leading solution for modelling and documenting modern networks. By combining traditional systems such as IP Address Management (IPAM) and Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) with powerful APIs and extensions, NetBox offers the ideal "source of truth" for network automation.

NetBox has a fully-fledged REST API and a GraphQL API for easy integration with other tools and systems.

The Netbox user interface

Below you can see some screenshots of Netbox in use. We can also create your own skin or extend an existing skin to make Netbox look exactly the way you want it.

The following functions are already included out-of-the-box with Netbox. Functions that are not used can simply be deactivated application-wide in the settings.

  • Hierarchical regions, location groups, locations and sites
  • Racks, devices and device components
  • Cable and wireless connections
  • Power distribution
  • Data lines and providers
  • Virtual machines and clusters
  • IP prefixes, ranges and addresses
  • VRFs and route destinations
  • L2VPN and overlays
  • FHRP groups (VRRP, HSRP, etc.)
  • AS numbers
  • VLANs and scaled
  • VLAN groups
  • Organisational tenants and contacts

Depending on the requirements, Netbox can also be easily customised to the company. Thanks to the open plug-in function, you can also develop your own plug-ins for Netbox. You can find out exactly how to do this here.

  • User-defined fields
  • Customised links
  • Configuration contexts
  • User-defined model validation rules
  • Reports
  • User-defined scripts
  • Export templates
  • Conditional webhooks
  • Plugins
  • Single sign-on (SSO) authentication
